The CC Plus is the established, proven choice. The AquaSense 2 is the newer, feature-rich one. We lay out the differences and say who should choose which. Cleaning
The CC Plus has a strong wall-climbing scrubbing brush and a navigation system that scans the pool; it cleans the floor and walls. The AquaSense 2 adds the waterline. If you get a scum line, that is the decisive difference. Neither skims the surface; for that, see skimmer vs vacuum robot.
Power
The CC Plus never runs out of power: it’s plugged into a poolside power supply and runs for about a 2-hour cycle whenever you start it. The AquaSense 2 is rated for up to 4 hours per charge, with owner reports for the earlier model closer to 2.5 hours, and you recharge it afterward. For a normal pool, one run per charge is enough; the cost is remembering to charge, and over years the battery wears with use. Our lifespan guide covers this.
Handling
The CC Plus has a cable to manage and a robot of 20-plus lbs to lift out dripping. The AquaSense 2 parks itself at the surface and can be called back from the app, and its SmartDrain releases water before lifting. At about 26 lbs it’s not light. Cordless wins on convenience here.
Reliability and warranty
This is the CC Plus’s advantage. About 14,000 reviews at 4.3 stars is the longest record in the category, parts are widely available and the design is mature. Its warranty, however, is typically 1 year. The AquaSense 2 has a 3-year warranty per Beatbot but is a 2026 listing; the long-term record isn’t there yet.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the Nautilus CC Plus if you want the proven, always-ready robot, don’t care about the waterline and don’t mind a cord.
Buy the AquaSense 2 if you want waterline cleaning, no cord, an app and a longer warranty, and you’re comfortable with a newer product.
